Since its founding, Assumption has endured as an institution of resilience. This resilience has manifested itself at critical junctures in the life of the institution where bold decisions were necessary in response to situations that had consequences for Assumption’s future. Not only did Assumption adapt, but it endured and thrived.
oday’s higher education landscape requires institutions to be innovative and to seek partnerships that will benefit the experience of students. Innovative thinking at Assumption has resulted in two exciting and unique programs that continue to differentiate Assumption from our peer institutions.
As I looked out upon more than 600 graduates who would soon transition from students to alumni and embark upon a number of unique journeys, I pondered how these individuals equipped and formed with an Assumptionist education, would seek to satisfy their restless hearts as they search for fulfillment.
In recent years, there’s been intensified focus on encouraging students to study a single subject area to perform a specific task, eschewing a liberal arts education. The trouble with a single-focused degree education? If the job becomes obsolete, so does the degree; there are no additional skills to fall back on.
