Though the global pandemic has put a pause on collegiate athletics competition, the Department of Athletics has begun to implement an ambitious new vision under Christine Lowthert, who was named director of athletics in June. Her goal is to continue to build upon the success while developing an innovative plan.

Student-Athletes Lead On and Off the Field

At Assumption, being part of a team and working with others is the core of athletics. Student-athletes receive a balanced education, which includes experiences that are not limited to being in the classroom or athletic commitments. Student-athletes are also engaged in community service, intramurals, InterVarsity, and other activities across campus.

Greyhounds Tapped for Puerto Rico’s National Team

Friends Juan O’Neill and Nicolas Cardona played soccer on opposing teams and later as teammates. When it came to pick a college, both decided to join the Assumption Greyhounds and not only are they competing through the NE-10 Conference, but as members of the Puerto Rico National Team.
