Fr. Donald Espinosa, A.A, AP’60, AU’64 (1942-2020)

Fr Donald EspinosaFollowing a lengthy illness, Fr. Donald Espinosa, A.A., 78, passed away in September. An Assumption Preparatory School and College graduate, Fr. Espinosa was a dedicated member of the Assumption and Assumptionist communities.
His ministry began as a teacher at Assumption Prep in the 1969–70 school year before being ordained to the priesthood in August 1971. He went on to teach at Madonna High School in Weirton, WV, before being named director of Assumption’s Campus Ministry, a position he held from 1976 to 1981. He served on Assumption’s Board of Trustees from 1982 to 2008.

Fr. Espinosa served the Assumptionists in a variety of capacities for several decades, including as provincial treasurer from 1981 to 1989. He was later named director of development at the Assumptionist Center in Brighton, a position he held until 2016, and was instrumental in establishing the residency program for graduate students and young professionals at the Assumptionist Center.

Fr. Espinosa served as pastor of St. Anne and St. Patrick Parish from 1992 to 2001.
